Income Assistance Estimator

The Ministry of Housing and Social Development (MHSD) provides services that move people towards jobs and assists individuals and families in need


What is the purpose of the Income Assistance Estimator?

This estimator is for people who need to apply for income assistance. It provides information about eligibility requirements for collecting assistance and estimates the amount of assistance they might receive.

The estimator does not include disability rates.

To complete the Income Assistance Estimator, you will go through a series of screens and enter information related to your situation. Here is a list of information you will need:

	rent/mortgage per month			hydro cost per month
	heating cost per month			the value of your assets
	phone cost per month			an approximation of your monthly net income


	This web-based service is only an estimate of your eligibility to collect income assistance. It will give you an idea if you are eligible and how much you might receive. If you need to apply for assistance, you still have to complete an application at a BC Employment and Income Assistance Office.
